2024 Dalbeattie Museum Trust AGM

The annual general meeting for 2024 took place on Sunday 3rd March in Dalbeattie Parish Church hall.

Volunteers, Trustees and members of the public attend the AGM. Minutes of the meeting can be found here 2024 AGM.

After the meeting a talk was given by Mr David Reid of Dumfries & Galloway Aviation Museum on "The Aviation Museum - the first 48 years"

Many thanks to Mr Reid for giving us a fascinating insite into the hard work and effort that went into initially setting up the museum and the work that has been required to grow it to where it is today.

Do you have a couple of hours (or more) per week to join the team of volunteers showing visitors around and maintaining Dalbeattie's award winning museum.

You do not need to have local or antiques knowledge - you will learn as you go. Our experienced volunteers will always be on hand to provide support.

If you are interested and want to find out more, either drop your details (name, email address, phone number) into the museum letter box and we will get back to you or pop into the museum when we are open and speak to some of our volunteers.

ITV Border Life

Another TV outing for the museum came in 2022 when ITV Border Life visited. Presenter Fiona Armstrong spent the day touring the museum and recording interviews with some of our volunteers for inclusion in an edition of Border Life that was transmitted in early 2023. To view this episode visit the Border Life web site.

BBC Bargain Hunt

Dalbeattie Museum featured on a special "Gadgets" edition of BBC's Bargain Hunt.

The programme was filmed in the Museum in 2021 and was broadcast on BBC 1.

The Museum was able to facilitate the programme with a wide range of items and articles for this Gadget Special edition of the programme.

The programme was broadcast in July 2021 but unfortunately is not currently available on the BBC iPlayer.

Dalbeattie Primary School Book

History Of Dalbeattie Primary School

1876-2015

This book was collated when the Primary School closed and was replaced by the Dalbeattie Learning Campus.

It was felt important to record and document the history of the school.

Along with the book there is a DVD of class photographs,

taken over the years.

This book is still available and free to any former pupil of

Dalbeattie Primary School.
